A Stanford University study found that college football players who tried to sleep at least 10 hours a night, for seven to eight weeks, improved their average sprint time and had less daytime fatigue and more stamina. Similar results were also found in tennis players and swimmers.

6. Happy Kids

Children typically tend to fight the urge to go to bed, but getting them to sleep isn’t just beneficial to the parent (for obvious reasons). A lack of sleep in children can lead to hyperactivity, lack of attention and impulsive behaviour. Temper tantrum anyone?!
